About DeFlock Arizona
Our Mission
DeFlock Arizona connects city-level organizations across Arizona that are fighting back against automated license plate reader surveillance. We coordinate strategy, share resources, and amplify local voices to create a statewide movement against mass surveillance.
How We Work
- → Connect — We link up existing city-level orgs so they can share strategies, templates, and wins.
- → Track — We map ALPR locations across Arizona using OpenStreetMap data from the national DeFlock project.
- → Organize — We provide toolkits, templates, and guidance for city-level organizing adapted for Arizona.
- → Win — We push for city ordinances that ban or restrict ALPRs and hold law enforcement accountable.
Connection to National DeFlock
DeFlock Arizona is part of the national DeFlock movement. The national project maps ALPR locations across the US using crowdsourced data in OpenStreetMap. We are the Arizona-specific hub — connecting local organizations, tracking Arizona-specific legislation, and building a statewide coalition.
